Transportation
Shuttle buses will transport conference attendees from the hotel to Saint Mary’s Hall on Friday and Saturday mornings and return at the end of each day.
Self parking will be available near the hotel. Parking is available at Saint Mary’s Hall. A bus will be available to shuttle conference attendees back to the hotel at the conclusion of the conference.
Meals
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided Friday and Saturday at Saint Mary’s Hall Thursday and Friday evening receptions include light refreshments

Located directly on San Antonio’s River Walk, the Hilton Palacio del Rio is within walking distance of restaurants, cafés, and many of the city’s downtown attractions. Built for the 1968 World’s Fair, the hotel has a unique place in San Antonio’s history, and every guest room includes a private balcony overlooking the River Walk or downtown.
Room reservations are available for $209 USD per night excluding taxes and fees
Reservations must be made by Friday, March 12, 2027. The room block typically fills well before the cutoff date, so early booking is encouraged.

Exhibiting at the Institute for Global Learning conference is a great way to build new and grow current partnerships with schools. Due to our basic vetting of exhibitors, schools come to conference ready to learn more about you. Exhibiting includes table space on Friday and Saturday’s program and full access to conference programming, as well as listing for your organization in the conference program.
The fee to exhibit at the 2027 conference is $2,195 and $1,945 for non-profit organizations. The exhibiting fee includes 1 complimentary registration, with the option to add up to 1 additional participant at $695 per person (maximum of 2 total participants)

The Call for Proposals for breakout sessions is now open! We invite submissions from school leaders, classroom teachers, program administrators, and partner organizations (co-presenting with a school) on topics such as:
- Strategic vision and initiatives for educating in today’s interconnected world
- Global perspectives and issues in the classroom
- Experiential pedagogy and off-campus program design
- Global competency curriculum and assessment
- Citizenship education, community-based learning, and student action
- Intercultural dialogue and civic engagement
- Institutional oversight and risk management for off-campus programs
- Current research and trends in global education
TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL PROPOSAL 1. Choose an idea, question, challenge, or practice connected to one or more of our conference focus areas, mentioned above. 2. Share why your topic matters and what you’ve learned from your experience, including any challenges. 3. Invite participants into the learning by designing for engagement, and consider what they might take away such as examples, resources, or models they can adapt to their own context. Proposals must be the work of the presenters and use tools, including generative AI, only in supportive ways such as revising for clarity. The content of successful proposals will represent the school's specific experience and contextualized work and include authentic voice and lessons learned that can be useful for fellow educators.
